Privacy policy
Marketplace Rewind stores your listing history on your own device and sends it nowhere. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no third party involved.
The short version
- Rewind saves a listing only when you open its page on Facebook Marketplace.
- It saves what Marketplace displayed: title, price, location, listing link, and timestamps.
- Everything is kept in your browser's local storage on your computer.
- Nothing is transmitted, sold, shared, or used for advertising.
- Clearing your history or uninstalling the extension deletes the data.
What Rewind stores
When you open an individual Facebook Marketplace listing, Rewind records the information that page rendered:
- the listing title;
- the price as written, including later prices if it changes;
- the location shown on the listing;
- the listing's URL or identifier, so the entry can link back to it;
- when you first opened it and when you last opened it.
Rewind does not infer or store category, brand, condition, seller identity, message content, or any judgement about the listing. If a value cannot be read from the page, it is left empty rather than guessed at.
What Rewind does not store
Scrolling or searching Marketplace records nothing. Rewind does not log your searches, the feed you were shown, listings you scrolled past without opening, your Facebook account details, your name, email, or IP address. It creates no identifier for you, because there is nothing for an identifier to be attached to.
Where the data lives
Your history is held in your browser's local extension storage on the device where it was created. It is not uploaded to any server, not synced between your devices, and not accessible to us or to anyone else. We operate no backend and receive no copy of your data.
Browser permissions
Rewind asks for the narrowest permissions that let it do its job: access to Facebook Marketplace pages so it can read the listing you opened, local storage so it can remember it, and the side panel so it can show you the list. It does not read your other tabs, your browsing history, your downloads, or any other website.
Third parties and advertising
There are none. Rewind contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Your data is never sold, rented, or transferred, and it is not used for any purpose unrelated to showing you your own listing history.
Your control over the data
Because the history is local, you already hold it. You can clear it at any time from the extension's panel, and uninstalling the extension removes its stored data along with it. No request to us is required, and nothing is retained afterwards — there is nothing for us to retain.
Children
Rewind is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Any change that would affect how data is handled will be reflected here before it takes effect in a released version of the extension.
